From 'La Mole' to Penge

Yesterday after my swimming class I met Adrian in Chelsea for a bite to eat


We nibbled a few balls:



kaasballen ("deep fried balls of mozzarella & cheddar cheese, onion & breadcrumbs, with soured cream") and bitterballen ("dutch meatballs served with mustard").

I didn't particularly enjoy them but the pancakes very really nice



as you can probably tell!



We then walked up the King's Road






to the Curzon Chelsea



for an advance screening of "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel".

We knew it was going to be a posh crowd when we spotted Patsy Stone having a ciggie outside.



Champagne for Lulu!!! But we had a brew instead.

So, what about the film?

2 dames (Maggie and Judi), some fabulous actresses (Celia, Penelope) and talented actors (Dev Patel, Bill Nighy, Thomas Wilkinson, Ronald Pickup)



and the colours, noises and music of India.

We really enjoyed it! Dame Maggie was Downton Abbey's Lady Violet without the posh accent; Celia Imrie had some of the best lines and Dame Judi was charming as always.
India looked beautiful in this slightly sanitised version.
Did it make me want to go back? Well, everything looks more enticing on film!
