Last night we had dinner with 5 neighbours (they all live 2 streets up from us).  Lynne and Jennifer invited us round and Bob(by) and Neil, and Alex were the other guests.

It was a fantastic evening!! The food was lovely (chicken roast dinner with all the traditional trimmings such as Yorshire puddings; mini raspberry pavlovas and cheesecake) but the company was even better.
We had such a laugh and there was never a dull moment or even a lull in the conversation.

One of the funniest stories was about Jennifer's Mum and a game of Scrabble

She put a few tiles together and asked Lynne and Jennifer:

Isa word?

Try to explain that to your own mother!

That and "mobile" are the two main words I learned in England. ;{)}

MINGE turns out not to be acceptable in American Scrabble but it is in British Scrabble.

When Jennifer's Mum learnt what minge was, she decided to go for something else!

Heh. :{)} In competitive games most of the naughty words are valid. I won a game against a nice old lady in part by putting NOSY in the lower left corner and C*NT in the lower right.
