I utterly fail to get it; it's well beyond my meagre ability to understand English culture. So I'm not sure whether I should laugh or cringe or both or neither, but "You are wonderful in your ability to see room for improvement whereever you look!" FTW! I must remember that for next time I've the misfortune to share air with my mother.
The British all love the aristos and the salt of the earth. Everyone hates the middle class. Including the middle class. That we have the history we do is a blessing and a curse. That other countries do not is also exactly that.
Me either! I got into the series kicking and screaming because I didn't want to be into yet another show at all. But, I have to say, it's terribly pleasing to all my senses. Ms. MacLaine will up the ante for sure!
Wonderful! Maggie Smith could read the phone book and thrill me. I have seen her perform live many times, as well as on film, and her skill always impresses me. I love the fact that this montage includes clips of her not speaking but just looking, as she can speak volumes with her facial expressions and gestures. Her longevity as an actor is a great tribute to her talent.
