Eurovision gaffe
Mar. 18th, 2007 12:50 pmLast night we, the UK public, (provided that there were no more phone-in scandals of course) selected the singers to represent the UK at the Eurovision song contest final in Helsinki (the UK, France, Germany and Spain qualify to the final automatically because they give a lot of money to the contest).
It was a fun show with great songs and I loved the winners: Scooch.
Their pop number "Flying the Flag (For You)" is very camp and catchy (I'm sure they got most of the gay vote - well they got mine!).
The cabin crew theme and uniforms, the dance routine and some double-entendre lines ("Would like something to suck on before landing, Sir?") reminded me so much of a Pam Ann's show!! (or of a couple of British Airways flights with some very over-the-top attendants!!)
The 2 presenters decided to announce the winner's name together... and they managed to shout different names!!
The looks of disappointment-joy/confusion/joy-disappointment on the contestants' faces makes this an amusing a clip!
Gaffe mars Scooch Eurovision win
Who knows? We might even do well this year!
