It was a slightly unusual week-end.
Adrian ([personal profile] london1952) had to work yesterday (London Design Week) and I was a little under the weather so I didn't do much.
Last night I met Adrian in town after work as we had already booked tickets for the Cockpit Theatre.
We walked from Edgware Road station to the theatre, and as we were going past a council estate, Adrian spotted a group of up-to-no-good youths on our side of the pavement; luckily (for us) there were more interested in another group of "hoodies" on the other side of the street and crossed over to clash with them. Then when we turned the corner, there were more yobs outside a shop and we saw a guy getting hit over the head with a stick.
It was all over in matter of seconds. Our lucky start must have been shining over us as we could have easily ended up in the middle of it all.

But now let's move on to the real star of the evening.
The show we went to see was Keith Johnstone's Maestro Impro
"Fifteen comedy improvisers will play out a series of sketches and games – all completely made-up on the spot.
At the end of each one, they will throw themselves on your mercy!
You, the audience, award the points which will determine who stays in the competition and who is eliminated.
At the end of the night, there will be one glorious winner – the funniest of them all, the improviser’s improviser, the champion of champions."

One of the comedians was our neighbour and friend Neil... and he was the winner! Well done to him and to all the other contestants: I was amazed at how witty, funny, and quick they were.
