LJ friends
49 out of my 122 LJ friends haven't posted for 2 weeks or more.
So, I ask you: do you have any new (to me) LJ friends that you think I would enjoy reading?

Do you have any LJ friends in Italy?

I have only one LJ friend in Italy: there don't seem to be many around.

Who is your Italian friend?

It's
...
If I see someone who is new to me I read them for a few posts and if they hold my interest I ad them to my favs, but not always friend list. So I can always check up on them when I want.
I have followed many folks in the way.
Re: ...
That's quite a good way to do it.
Re: ...
If I think I really enjoy someone after reading several of their posts, much like yours, I request or add them as friends to my friends list.

Do you know any other Italian people in London?

And if you have any to recommend too then by all mean share. I'm in the same boat as you with the lack of posting by half my friends list.

Many thanks your for all the suggestions Niall! I'll look them up.
Let's see... among those that post regularly and are not on your friends' list I'd recommend:Finding LJ Friends.
I pickup a few new ones from running the friends of friends features. Sometimes though it is fun to go to someone's friends list directly to check out new LJer.
I am saddened by those who have made there journals "Friends Only." It makes it difficult to find new friends. For that reason, I try to provide content that is both open and "friends Only." It makes it easier when someone like you starts looking for friends.
The one limit I have is that I usually don't friend people who only repost twitter stuff. I used to avoid people who only did quizzes and memes but most of those have migrated to Farcebook.
I am confident that I am among your 49 posters.
I can recommend
Joncub is an American living the the Australian Outback.
Putzmeisterbear is Fogbear's partner in San Francisco.
Not so Grey nomad is Shelly who is traveling Australia with her husband in a caravan.
Shelbycub is a comedian and story teller.
Re: Finding LJ Friends.
Thanks very much for the suggestions!

Maybe it's just summer break time? (And I'm guilty of being almost away from LJ for at least three weeks myself this summer - just posting and running now and then, because I had too many other things going on at once).
I guess you've already got enough suggestions, but I'm wondering if you would like
You could try

You are probably right about people being away on holiday.
And many thanks for the recommendations, Darina!

It is somehow much easier on Facebook.... I just look at my news feed, and know what is worth reading/looking at/listening to. But Facebook isn't such a personal place for me and the people I communicate with there... it's more about exchanging information and ideas, brief updates of current events in people's lives and occasionally sharing some favourite music videos (and thankfully, half of it is in my native language, so I can read it faster than in English or Russian). And I can afford to post links to Bulgarian articles or videos there without translating them into English.
